Kiko 360 (Strawberry Pink) Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Hi everyone ! How are you all doing on this freezing morning ? Today I have a pretty pink polish for you. My polish collection consists of mostly pinks and purples, but I don't have anything close to this one. This is Strawberry Pink from (you guessed it) Kiko.

What you see here are four (yep, four) coats. Now there's a little story behind those four coats, so sit back and listen read. I always apply my nail polish before going to bed, because that's usually when I have the most time. So I applied 2 coats of Strawberry Pink, but I could still see my nail line, which I don't really like. After waiting for my second coat to be dry, I applied a third one. There was still some visible nail line, but I decided to be okay with it. After about an hour and a half/two hours, I went to bed. Now, my nails weren't perfectly dry, so I was really careful. When I woke up the next day, womp womp. Sheet marks all over my nails. UGH. That had never happened with the other Kiko polishes so I was a bit disappointed. I should have waited to apply the third coat the next morning. Anyway, I decided to apply another coat of polish before taking my swatch pictures, being very careful with my hands because the polish wasn't drying (I don't think you can see it but I actually have a mark on my pinky from my sweater). So this is the story of why I had to apply four coats of this polish. At least there was no more nail line, ha !

All in all, Strawberry Pink is a beautiful color, even if it is a bit sheer when you do thin coats. Application was very easy, but the polish took a looong time to dry ! The fourth coat I applied in the morning still wasn't dry in the afternoon ! It lasted about 3 to 4 days on my nails without chipping, which is a bit longer than usual for the Kiko polishes (at least for me), but it was probably because of my 4 thin coats.

Do you like pink polish ? What color do you mostly have in your stash ?

OPI Green-wich Village Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Hello everyone ! Today I have my very first (and only, sadly) OPI polish for you !
My dad bought this for me a little more than a year ago, when we were on holiday. I walked into a Sephora and spent a looong time looking at nail polishes with my sister, and he wanted to get out of there, so he just said "Take one of those nail paints". Little did he know that we'd then have to think about what color to get, ha ! My sister got Sparrow Me The Drama, from the Pirates of the Carribean collection, and I got Green-wich Village, because I didn't have any green in my stash at the time.
Green-wich Village is a beautiful green (I know, shocker, considering the name) creme. It's not an in-your-face green, which means it's not too bright, but it's not a dark-almost-black green. It's perfect for Spring and Autumn.

It applied perfectly. The polish actually self-levels on the nails, so there's no part that's thicker than the other. What you see on the picture is four thin coats. I applied at night but didn't wait long enough for it to dry and set before going to bed, so I woke up with sheet marks (that you can see in the picture) and I had to put more polish on to hide them.Green-wich Village lasted about 4 to 5 days without chipping, and that was without top coat. Amazing wear time !
I am honestly in love with this polish, and I don't regret picking this one to be my first OPI (without seeing swatches first, can you believe it ?)
What's your first OPI polish ? And if you don't have one, which one would you like to get ?

Kiko 356 (Melon) Nail Polish Swatch & Review

I remember back in 2009 when all I could think about was "Man, I wish I could find some orange polish". I ended up finding one in Sephora, a Bourjois 1 Seconde (in Pamplemousse), a sheer orange based glitter, but it wasn't enough. I finally find an orange creme in Claire's, and those are the only two orange polishes I owned until Melon came along. I was really excited about this one, but when I started applying it, I was a bit disappointed. It was very streaky, and it took 3 coats (the last one being a thick coat) to hide the streaks and bald spots from the first two coats. Ugh

Unlike the other Kiko lacquers, this one had big chips the next day, and as it peeled off my nails, I noticed that it had stained my nails. Now, I mentionned the fact that I don't wear a base coat, and that's because in all my years of polishing, I'd never felt the need to apply one. This was the first time my nails were stained. So Melon disappointed me. I am keeping it, but I will only try it again once I have a base coat (2 months later, my nails are still a bit stained). As for drying time, it took a little longer than other Kiko lacquers, probably because of the thick coat.

What about you, have you ever been disappointed by a nail polish you were really excited about ?

Kiko 428 (Limited Edition Sun Pearl Nail Lacquer in River Green) Swatch & Review

Ah, green polish, my love. I actually don't own a lot of green polishes. I have OPI Green-wich Village, and maybe two or three other that aren't from "big brand names". But when I saw this one it was love at first sight. This polish is gorgeous, and this picture (that was taken in a hurry so please excuse it) doesn't do it justice, really.

Kiko released River Green with their Limited Edition Sun Pearl Nail Lacquers, as part of their Fierce Spirit collection. It's a shimmer polish, and it is beautiful. It's a dark green base, filled with gold (which you can't really see in the picture) and lighter green shimmer that reflect the light. The first coat was opaque, but I did apply a second one. Just like other Kiko lacquers, it lasted about 2/3 days without big chips and dried really fast.
Unfortunately, it seems it's no longer available online. If you can find it on eBay, or even if they still have one in store, get your hands on it ! I had a coupon and I can't remember how much I paid exactly for it, but it was 4,90€ online.

Kiko 238 (Martha Red) Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Hello, everyone ! How are you all doing on this cold and rainy morning ? Today I have another nail polish post for you, but I promise the next one will be a baking post !
Anyway, here is Kiko's Martha Red. I needed a bright, candy apple red. It's an all-yeard round color, paired with a gold glitter, it's perfect for the holidays, and it looks great in spring/summer. So when I laid eyes on this one (or more exactly the little colored dot of polish on the website), I had to have it.

It is gorgeous. I needed 3 coats, because I could still see my nail line (even if it wasn't that obvious, but I'm just a little OCD about that). Just like my other Kiko polishes, it stayed on for 2/3 days without major chips, but took a little bit more time to dry than other lacquers from the brand. Martha Red is the perfect basic candy apple red, and it's only 2,50€. Go get it. I'm serious (not really).

Kiko 291 (Orchid Pink) Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Here's another Kiko polish ! I have a lot of pinks/violets in my stash, but I didn't have any purple creme polish (can you believe it ?). So I fell for Orchid Pink.

It's a gorgeous color. It's a bit darker than the website picture, and even if it has pink in its name, it is definitely purple. Again, perfect coverage. This is two coats (as I always do), but if you're in a rush, one thick coat is enough. Like Gentian Blue, it stayed on my nails for 2/3 days without base/top coat and dried really fast.

Kiko 384 (Gentian Blue) Nail Polish Swatch & Review

I have a lot of nail polish. Well, I don't have hundreds of them, but I have a nice assortment of colors. Except I didn't have any blue. So Gentian Blue called my name, and it ended up in my shopping bag when I ordered from Kiko.

It's a dark blue creme, but it's not navy. Application was perfect. I applied two coats, but it has really good coverage, and you can get away with one coat. It stayed on my nails for 2/3 days without any big chips (and I don't wear base/top coat. I know, it's wrong) and dried really quick. I love it !

Kiko nail polish haul

Am I allowed to call this a haul ? Okay.
So back in May (yes, this post is late), Kiko sent me a coupon, and because I desperately needed some new nail polish colors for summer, I thought "why not ?". Their nail lacquers are cheap (they're 2.50€ here in France) and I'd heard some good things. They also have an amazing color palette, and if you're looking for those 'basic' colors, I think you should definitely check out their website. They have a whole rainbow, from pure red to light blue to dark green. You should also look for swatch pictures, as those little colored dots on the website look a bit lighter than the actual polish.

In total, I bought 12 polishes, 9 for myself, and 3 for my sister (She got Mint Milk, Burnt Orange and Raspberry Pink). I got a limited edition Sun Pearl nail lacquer in River Green (above), and 8 'regular' polishes. Below are Orchid Pink, Lilac, Mint Milk, Gentian Blue and Strawberry Pink, Light Peach, Melon, and Martha Red.

I have some swatch posts coming up, and I'll say what I thought of each polish in their own post, but I can already tell you this : for the price, the quality of their polishes is great. I'll be back soon with swatches :)
Now, I want to know about you, what's the last nail polish you bought ?

A fresh start

I haven't posted in a while. Oops. But that's okay. As you can see, old posts were deleted, and I'm ready to start fresh. I have some posts ideas, and hopefully I won't stop posting for months.
I tend to overthink just a little bit, which is probably why I haven't posted in a while. But I have to stop worrying about what other people think.
Coming up, some Kiko nail polish swatches, maybe some baking recipes and a makeover plan for my bedroom (because it definitely needs some love).
Stay tuned ;) !
